REPORT OF IEC AND HEALTH CAMPS CONDUCTED AT UHC, ANJANNAPA GARDEN JULY 2008 IMMUNIZATION AND FAMILY PLANNING IEC PROGRAMME. – July 28, 2008 83 pregnant and lactating mothers in the area were target population· All mothers were screened for nutritional disorders and other health problems· Infants were screened for developmental disorders, growth & nutritional disorders· Immunization status of every infant was checked· Required medications including Ferrous sulfate tablets and multi-vitamins (for 3 months) were dispensed · Every mother received a weaning container Health education programme using LCD projector was conducted. The following topics were covered · Importance of immunization · Awareness regarding National immunization schedule and RCH programme· Importance of child hygiene and nutrition· Weaning practices · Brief awareness about chikengunya. SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAMME – BBMP. MIDDLE SCHOOL, ANJANAPPA GARDEN 29TH JULY, 2008 and BELI MUTT SCHOOL, BINNY PET ON 30TH JULY 2008- 70 children of two schools were benificiries - Children were aged between 10 and 15- General health screening including nutritional deficiencies were first conducted- Suitable medications were be dispensed. Multi-vitamins were dispensed for a maximum period of 3 months- All children received de-worming prophylaxis - All children received a mini-stationary kit.- All children attended the IEC which follows the health screening Health awareness programme was conducted on following topics: - Importance of personal hygiene and ways to maintain the same - Importance of Environmental hygiene and ways to maintain the same- Menstrual hygiene awareness to females. |
